The Australian Government's Department of
Infrastructure and Transport has released a National Alliance
Contracting Policy and accompanying Guidelines, which are aimed at
delivering cost savings through use of a consistent alliance
contracting standard and streamlined alliance processes across
jurisdictions.
The policy and guidelines do not require the
use of alliance contracting. However, they apply in circumstances
where alliance contracting has been selected as the contractual
delivery strategy for a nominated project. The Tasmanian Government
Purchasing Framework does not currently include provision for
alliance contracting. Consequently, inner-Budget agencies
considering using an alliance contracting model are encouraged to
contact the Procurement and Property Branch in the first instance
to discuss possible options for how this could occur.
The National Alliance Contracting Policy and
Guidelines are available on the Department of Infrastructure and
Transport's website at http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/infrastructure/nacg
