The Government Information Technology Conditions (GITC) is a national framework of standard legal documentation that has been developed in cooperation with industry representatives and government. The GITC is designed to assist government buyers and industry suppliers to develop contracts for the supply of information technology products and services in the most efficient and effective manner.
Tasmania currently uses version 2 (GITC 2) as the standard conditions of contract framework for computer hardware, software and IT services purchases, regardless of value (refer to Treasurer's Instruction 1123).
The GITC contract consists of -
- A Generic Head Agreement between the Crown and an IT company (organised by Treasury and containing general IT terms and conditions)
- The Government Information Technology Conditions (Purchase Orders) which are the individual purchase orders between an agency and an IT company (organised by agencies and containing specific requirements) for software orders, hardware purchases, and the supply and integration of a system.
To apply for accreditation under GITC 2 please download and complete the following Supplier Accreditation Application Form. Please email completed form to the Treasury contact officer below or post to GPO Box 147, Hobart, Tasmania, 7001.
For further information about the GITC, please contact the Treasury contact officer below.
