Registering as a Road and/or Bridge Contractor

What does registration mean?Back to Top

Also known as pre-qualification, registration is an objective assessment of the capacity of your company to complete the work required.

The registration process has been developed to ensure that there is a consistent and professional approach in government construction tendering and contracts practice.

The Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) is responsible for all Road and Bridge registrations.

The Registration categories are:

  • Major Works: roadworks and bridgeworks, sealing works;
  • Bridge Maintenance; and
  • Minor Works (up to $250 000): pavement marking, wire rope/steel safety fences, traffic signs, roadworks up to $250 000.

Registration is valid for two years.

Who needs to register?Back to Top

Registration is for contractors seeking to tender for government engineering construction projects.

Contractors for all road and bridge works are required to register with the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources.
