ICNTAS is part of a national network with
offices throughout Australia and New Zealand that offer free and
confidential services to buyers and suppliers.
Whether you are a buyer or a supplier, ICNTAS
can help.
What
services does ICNTAS offer suppliers?
ICNTAS is committed to increasing the supply
opportunities for Tasmanian manufacturers and service
providers.
ICNTAS's free services to suppliers
include:
-
providing your name to potential buyers if your business matches
their requirements;
-
providing you with information on business opportunities;
-
helping you to interpret the buyer's technical and quality
requirements;
-
assisting you to form a consortium with other businesses so that
you can tender for work that would otherwise be beyond your
capacity;
-
facilitating partnerships between Government and Industry; and
-
advising on opportunities for new or increased production,
especially where there is the opportunity to replace an imported
item with a locally produced item.
If you are tendering for government business,
ICNTAS can also:
-
assist you to prepare your tender (but not give advice on pricing);
and
-
liaise with the government agency or identify the correct agency
officer for you to contact.
What services does
ICNTAS offer private sector and government buyers?
The primary role of ICNTAS is to assist
buyers, both government and private, to identify competitive
local suppliers of goods and services.
Couldn't I do this myself by looking
through the Yellow Pages?
No. ICNTAS will not simply provide you
with a list of local businesses that are classified in a certain
category. ICNTAS has a thorough knowledge of each
business's capabilities, capacity and experience.
Because of this, ICNTAS will provide you with a list of suitable
and competitive local producers that are capable of meeting your
exact requirements.
Government buyers must contact ICNTAS for
all goods and services purchases valued at $100 000 or
over. ICNTAS has a dual role:
-
to help them identify suitable local businesses; and
-
to check the tender specification, to ensure that it does not
unnecessarily exclude local businesses from competing for the
tender.
ICNTAS can also assist government buyers
in:
-
sourcing technical information for specifications;
-
facilitating partnerships between Government and Industry;
-
conducting pre-tender briefing sessions; and
-
debriefing unsuccessful tenderers.
Why is it
important to register with ICNTAS?
First and foremost - both private and public
sector buyers use ICNTAS to source local producers. In fact,
it is government policy that government buyers must check with
ICNTAS for goods and services purchases valued at $100 000 or
over. If you are not registered with ICNTAS, you may miss out
on business opportunities.
It's free!
